You Were Once Here is a carved wood wall sculpture with embedded electronics and paper flowers. A proximity sensor detects the viewer’s presence and gradually activates the light within the work, making physical approach part of the sculpture itself. The piece considers memory and absence, using a quiet responsive gesture to suggest how traces of presence can linger even after someone is gone.
